We spent a fantastically sunny week at this charming rustic retreat. After a leisurely 30 minute drive from Corfu airport we arrived at our destination, Villa Melolia. The uphill drive to the villa looks daunting although I found it quite managable in our little Hyundai hire car. We were very impressed upon first sight and the photos on this website certainly do the villa justice, with views that are best decribed as stunning. The inside is reasonably spacious and airy in spite of the limited daylight due to the smallish windows. The tower is a nice touch and worked really well providing a fully fitted kitchen, a bedroom as well as the covered roof terrace. I should say the finishing touches in certain areas are not ideal and do require attention, if only on a safety basis. Its not very practical to have to hold the shower head while showering, plus the spray from the shower soaks everything in the bathroom. The tired old decking with raised screws and curved stoppends and blown brickwork forming the path are not exactly ideal either (I tripped up twice!). I also think it would have been nice if there was a Wii Fit as stated in the villa's description. Instead, our fitness regime consisted of playing virtual tennis with the persistant wasps and flying ants by the pool.
