What a disappointment. Although the location and views are as breathtaking as portrayed on the web, the villa doesn't live up to its 5* rating. Facilities within the villa are average, a stereo that is nailed into the shelf and a satellite tv with one UK channel. The fridge/freezer was substandard and then completely stopped working and had to be replaced (with the same model). There is a limited selection of kitchen utensils and these were of poor quality although we have boosted the selection with the purchase of some b-b-q tools. Beds are hard and uncomfortable. There were no torches or candles and we had 3 power cuts within our 2 week holiday. There were no also no insect screens at the windows which we have experienced before in 5* accommodation (and they are needed in this rural location). Probably more concerning was the unhelpful and rude attitude of the villa's owner who came to tell us that we couldn't have another set of towels for our guests as it was too far to travel into Paphos to get them. Fortunately Meon Villa's concierge was helpful and professional and the matter was eventually resolved, however it left a bad taste in our mouths especially as we had given advance notice of our guests' arrival. It is a shame as this really could have been a fantastic get-away-from-it-all holiday but was spoilt by our inflated expectations of the villa and hostility from the owner. Expect 2-3* and you won't be disappointed....the view really is amazing.

Following customer feedback we have downgraded this villa to a 4 star rating. Our rating system is a guide and we are sorry that Mrs Raynes' expectations were not met. We have also spoken with the owner to explain that his behavious was unacceptable. We have also apologised to Mrs. Raynes.
