Corfu's glory is her central town, with beautiful Venetian architecture (although the Liston was designed by De Lesseps and based on the Rue de Rivoli). Probably the prettiest town in Greece, it has a very strong resemblance to Venice, but without the canals! There are plenty of resorts with lively nightlife and smart restaurants but also quiet backwaters with just the old local taverna.
