The pretty village of Alte situated in the hills above Faro is famous for it's folklore. Silves, with its Moorish castle, the market town of Loule, and Caldas in the Monchique mountains are just a few of the places that should not be missed. If you enjoy soaking up a bit of culture on your villa holiday, the Algarve's Moorish past is still visible in the unique architecture and its sea-faring traditions are still carried on in the modern marinas scattered along the coast.
