Just off the west coast of Africa, villas in Lanzarote are sure to have you charmed, with scenery to inspire any artist. With an average year-round temperature of 24°C, along with a constant sea breeze and mild dry climate, it's perfect for both winter and summer holidays.
Famous for its luna-like landscape, villas in Lanzarote are surrounded by striking settings of fiery coloured cone-shaped mountains and oddly sculpted rock formations. Timanfaya, literally Mountains of Fire, and the Valley of Tranquillity stretch over 5,000 hectares of volcanic landscape with 300 craters and, with its natural heat still bubbling underground, it's the perfect place for a barbeque. The rest of the island is dotted with cacti and palm trees, and charming whitewashed villages.
On your Lanzarote villa holiday, you can explore white sandy beaches in the north and dramatic, black volcanic sands in the south. Two definite must-sees are the golden coves of Playas de Papagayo, considered by many to be Lanzarote's most beautiful beaches, and Famara Beach, famous for its surf.
Lanzarote also has a complex network of underground caves, formed during volcanic eruptions, as lava made its way down to the sea. One has even been converted into a concert hall by legendary local artist César Manrique.
